Deep Dive: Racial Equity: A Priority for Nonprofit Sustainability

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

The session will explore the origins of race, racial ideologies, and the politics of racial classifications in the context of American history. It will overlay the development of these themes with the evolution of the nonprofit sector, with a focus on how systemic and institutional racism has been embedded in policies, programs, processes, procedures, and practices that continue to diminish the sector's value to society. The workshop will also explore how white privilege, implicit bias, stereotyping, and micro-aggressions Impact how the nonprofit sector lives out its values and achieves its goals. Participants will have the opportunity to learn how to advocate for racial equity, and, in doing so, will come to know what it will take for the sector to be viable and sustainable in a multicultural marketplace and environment.

Note: This session is a 3-hour workshop and requires pre-registration (FAQ #8). The purpose of the Deep Dives are to give participants an opportunity to spend more time thinking and learning about a particular topic or skill.
